Abstract

Background. To activate the senior pupils’ educational activity in the process of learning mathematical recognition of geometric forms it is necessary to distinguish the following stages of work: recognition of geometric image from the point of view of determining, recognition of geometric image from the point of view of knowledge, recognition of geometric image from the point of view of knowledge systematization. The aim of the study is to theoretical substantiate the necessity to activate the senior pupils’ educational activity in the process of learning mathematical recognition of geometric forms and to create appropriate motivational and orienting situations at each stage of work.
Materials and methods. Theoretical and methodological landmarks of the research were systematic and pragmatic approaches. Analyzing technological aspects of motivational and orienting situations in the process of learning mathematical recognition of geometric forms, the authors of the study relied on the conceptual bases of formation of the motivated educational activity formulated by A. V. Petrovsky, M. A. Rodionova, and on individual trajectories of mathematics teaching, described by S. N. Dorofeeva.
Results. The proposed system of methodical work helps to improve mathematical training of students, promotes better acquisition of mathematical knowledge, contributes to formation of the ability to solve problems of high complexity.
Conclusions. Effective purposeful work on development of high school students learning motivation in the process of teaching mathematical methods of recognition of geometric forms shouldn’t be reduced to periodic use of one or another activating techniques at different stages. Such work should be a constant component of the learning process.
